150th Anniversary of the Washington Equestrian Monument

  Capitol Building re-opened on May 1, 2007 [more] -- Queen Elizabeth II visited on May 3
   
Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip wave from the South Portico.
   
Queen Elizabeth II addressed the General Assembly, the first time a British Monarch has done so.  Thousands watched the speech outside the Capitol from the South Lawn.
